BONAPARTE
Sweat is dripping down the walls, people wearing napoleon paper hats are screaming: “Anti-Anti!”, stage diving girls are collecting bruises, futuristic visuals flicker across the room, burlesque dancers are kicking up their legs, a masked band is playing with an uncompromising in- your-face-ness, a peaceful and slightly mad smile lies on peoples faces, electricity is in the air, the revolution is about to break out. No! – you’re at a Bonaparte show.
The swiss vagabond with the black eye who moved from Barcelona to Berlin in 2006 soon became one of the hottest underground attractions of Germany’s party capital. Playing from New Zealand to the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival, from the illegal parties beneath Berlin’s Alexanderplatz to a private show for Quentin Tarantino. Bonaparte is marching strong, conquering hearts and butts, night after night!
The self-produced debut-album “Too Much” released in August 2008. Name it energetic electro-punk in the guise of a popsong with a dash of madness, if you will. Lyrics coming at you from unexpected angles, nothing left to pluck between the lines and yet the recipe is clear: Do you want to party with the Bonaparty?
The Bonaparte Circus operates with two battailons: First, the emperor marching- band featuring Carlos Primero (mexican submarine squad), Cannonier Beaux-Art (loud things) and the malicious rival Caesar (striped valiumpatient), secondly, we’ve got bonnie talents stranded at berlin’s plantation of neuroses like Miss Xixi (paranoid panamanian fuit-salad), Clea Cutthroat (bloody bunny & kiss of death) Zora La Viperine (fire & seduction), Vasy Mouton (actually a boxing goat). One could say Bonaparte comes from Germany, France, Switzerland, NewZealand, Austria, Panama, America, Poland and Brazil – but sounds like something else!
„You know tolstoi, i know playboy, you know politics, I know party-chicks, you know too much, too much, too much, too much, too much…“
